Reflection

          Only two days till the GLPS camp will be finished! I can't believe time has gone so fast. It feels like I've written my 30-day goal few days ago but it has been already a month in GLPS. I remember writing my 30-day goal that I want to get a green card from GLPS teachers, getting a better grade, and getting taller.

          Firstly, for getting a green card from GLPS teachers, I did get one! Not one, but four green cards! I got one for cleaning up the room very tidily. I got two green cards from winning games and the rest, I forgot. I was worried if I couldn't get the green card in 30 days but when I got the first one, I felt unbelievably happy. So the next time, I tried more harder and harder to get a green card to feel that happiness again.

          Secondly, I wanted to get good grades. I quite failed to do that in GLPS grades. It was because I wasn't active enough during classes. I could have got easy points if I asked questions during history presentation but I didn't ask because of my shyness. I regretted it but learned a lesson from it that I should be more an active student and that way, I could get a better grade!

          Lastly, I wanted to get TALLER! But I think I did grow during the camp because on the second week on Sunday, my roommate went to meet her family. When she came back, she told me that her family said she grew taller and got slimmer. I believe if she got taller, I would have grown too because I ate the same food as her and did same work as her. So when I heard this news, I was extremely happy. My height before the camp was about 158. I think I am 159 now. I'll eat a lot and workout a lot to grow more. I will strive myself to get taller till 165!!



          One more thing about the GLPS camp. Its my friends. I will never forget class 15. I will never forget my classmates. They were the friends who helped me when I always needed help. We always laughed and played together. The moment I will never forget is when we all went to cafeteria for our mock trial at self study 2. We always joked, laughed and chattered together. Through the self study 2, we all became closer and started to hangout together as well! I LOVE class 15! <3

Day 1

With class 13 and half of 15, we all learned kendo. It was my first time doing it. I found it quite amusing. I had difficulties holding the sword because it was cumbersome. We had to memorize the following words and orders as shown in the photo for homework.

My name was on the list of the delivery service. I went to an office and got an enormous box with my name written on it. It was full with junkfood! I was extremely happy. I thanked mom so much and shared the food with my friends.

It was a sunny day; the skies were all blue!

Since the weather was so nice, Minsago building looked more beautiful than ever. During English class, I took a photo because I loved the flower and thought it was very beautiful. 

Day 4

My friends and I ate biscuits during break time. We took a photo because to remember how delicious it was. I think it was the most tastiest food of the day. 

I hope I can remember how good the taste was when I see this photo again. 

Day 5

During the break in history class, we were all listening to music. We were listening to rhythms and had such fun. One of my friend named Yujin, tried to sing like a real ballad singer but failed! 

Day 6

FINALLY!! We ate ramen for dinner! It wasn't that spicy but I was still full with happiness. I also especially LOVED the kimchi pancake. It was so delicious. I thought I was in heaven the moment I had a bite on it. I will never forget the taste of kimchi pancake!!

While we were suffering with boredom, my friend and I decided to take photos. We tried to take funny photos so we can always remember what we have done during the class break! I love taking photos :)

 

Creative Writing {Lionel}

          Once upon a time, there was a one beautiful lion and one handsome tiger; they were in love. They always played together since when they were really young because their parents were friends. The lion was a female and her name was Lionel. The tiger was a male and his name was Tig. Lionel started to fall in love with Tig when Tig saved her from danger last time. Since then, they started to date and only hung out with each other. They have never been separated for two years. They were a lovely couple.

          One day, Tig thought of marrying Lionel and make her his woman forever. So he wanted to find a good place to propose to her but wanted to make it a surprise. So he just told her that he would just go for a walk and went away into the forest by himself. But that was his biggest mistake he ever made in his entire life. While Tig went away, Lionel was lonely so she went to a male lion, Lioner, and hung out with him. While playing with Lioner, Lionel suddenly had a thought that she wanted to date with an animal that looks like her. So Lionel started to flirt with Lioner to make him like her and it worked!

         
          In the next hour or so, Tig came back with a happy smile on his face but saw Lionel playing with Lioner. Tig's face changed into a very angry and furious face. Lionel noticed him and freaked out! Tig ran straight to her and roared at her with anger. Lioner tried to    protect Lionel from Tig. After a long time, Tig was calmed by Lionel. Lionel explained how she felt and what she wanted so much. At the end, she told them to fight and the one that wins will marry her. So they both started to prepare for the fight and for the decision next week.

       
          It was finally the D-DAY that the decision was going to be made! Tig attacked Lioner right away as soon as the match started, but Lioner defended it easily. Actually, Lioner was the champion of fighting in one district. He was a very strong opponent. When it was Lioner's turn to attack, he struck Tig really hard on his back and his legs; he fell with a thump. Tig was badly injured. A large amount of blood was dripping and it was almost impossible for him to attack back again. So the result was Lioner who won.

Movie Review "The Princess Bride"

         

          I'm going to write about a review about the movie: The Princess Bride. This movie was made in 1987, directed by Rob Reiner. The Genre is comedy, fantasy and romance but also is adventurous with lots of actions . There are several characters in the movie: Buttercup, Westley, Prince Humperdinck, Miracle Max, Dread Pirate Roberts, Vizzini, Spaniard, the Giant and lastly, the six fingered man. 

          The movie begins with a setting of a modern society; a child lying on the bed sick. His grandfather comes and reads a story about "The Princess Bride" to him. At the beginning of the story, we meet Buttercup and Westley. Westley is a poor man who works for Buttercup. Buttercup and Westley were in love with each other. But one day, Westley went away to earn money for their marriage and promised Buttercup he would comeback someday. But he didn't. Buttercup was was informed that Westley was killed by the Dread Pirate Roberts. Buttercup was so depressed and was full with sadness. She married Prince Humperdinck to forget Westley in her memory. 

          One day, Buttercup was kidnapped by the forest thieves. They kidnapped Buttercup because they wanted to make a war. When they were in the boat, Buttercup jumped off and tried to run away but she didn't notice that they were shrieking eels trying to attack her. She had to go to the boat again; when they arrived to the reach, they all climbed the cliff of insanity. But a man in black was following them and catching up! After all the fighting with the forest of thieves, the men in black won and rescued Buttercup, but guess what? He is Westley! 

          Westley and Buttercup tried to run away from Humperdinck and hid in the fire swamp. There were some dangerous places that Buttercup accidentally went in; there was quick sand and fire suddenly coming up from the ground. But Westley managed to save her life every time. Then suddenly, a big rat came up and attack Westley! Westley was in danger. He was injured and the rat was too strong. But by the help of the fire, he killed the big rat.

          After all that mess, they went out of the fire swamp but Humperdinck found them out. Buttercup said to Humperdinck to not lay a finger on Westley then rode the horse and went away. But the six fingered man, who works for Humperfdinck, made Westley faint and took him away to the a room where the pit of dispair was. The six fingered man tortured him. But suddenly Humperdinck came and tortured and tried to kill Westley with the machine but failed to do it, but Westley almost died. The Spaniard and the Giant went to  rescue Westley but Westley wouldn't wake up!

         They went to Miracle Max to sort out how to save and make Westley again. Miracle Max put air on his mouth and saved him at last! But there was a problem. Westley couldn't move his body, it was out of control! But he has to save Buttercup as well from her marriage with Humperdinck. But still, they went into the castle to rescue Buttercup. The Spaniard goes to the six fingered man and kills him because the six fingered man killed his father. Westley, with his uncontrolled body but can move a little, found Buttercup. Then Humperdinck shows up and tries to fight with Westley but he was scared of him and at the end, was tied up in the chair. With the Giant, the Spaniard, and Buttercup, Westley went away far away from the castle with the horses and lived happily ever after. 

Introduction&30-day goal

          Hello everyone, my name is Hyun Jeong Lim; my English name is Estelle. I was born in Hong Kong and I still live there since I was born, but both of my parents are Korean. As soon as my high school life finishes, I will go to Korea for university. I want to go to one of the SKY universities which are Seoul, Yonsei and Goryeo. I go to an English school called King George V. It is a well known school in Hong Kong. I've always wanted to go there but I finally got in this year! My favorite sport is track and field. My mom and my sisters all took   track and field before. Now I do track and field for my after school activities. 

          There are three goals that I want to achieve in 30-day challenge: getting taller, getting a better grades and getting a green card from GLPS teachers. 

          Reasons I want to get taller is because I was always teased by my friends and teachers that I was short. People may have thought it is not a serious matter but it actually was for me. It has always made me stressful and upset. I have always wanted to grow taller so this time, through the help of the 30-day challenge, I will at least grow a centimeter. I will always remember to stretch every night before I go to sleep and try to eat a lot of healthy foods, such as, meat and vegetables.

          I may not have a good brain but I believe I can try to keep up my grades. These days, one of my major worries is about grades. Even though I try hard to study before the examination, I never really get a grade that I want it to be. But I noticed the reason; it was because I didn't review what I learned every day. This whole program is going to help me to review what I learned that day and should be a careful listener. I'm going to do all my best to keep up my grades and will promise to try to continue to review and try harder.

          Lastly, my final goal, I want to achieve, is to get a green card from a GLPS teacher in Minsago camp. People say the green card will turn out to be a good thing later. I also heard it was quite difficult to get a green card from a teacher. For us students to get a green card, we should basically be quite good with everything. Always speaking English, dormitories should be clean and the most important one: be an active student. I am actually a very shy person. Therefore it is very difficult for me to be an active student but because teachers like active students, without any hesitation, I promised myself to be an active student.

          I am going to try all my best to achieve these three goals in 30 days!
